I also collect local and family history. I have written a book on Lantry, SD. The photo you see on my home page is my great grandparents huge sod house. The other photo I use is the original Lantry, SD train depot.
I started collecting for others about 20 years ago when I began to buy and sell antiques and collectibles. However, the buying is much more fun then the selling. If I like the item it is hard to sell. I have a tendency to display items for months before I decide to sell them. Currently, I need to sell some of the holiday items as I simply do not have the room.
Check back frequently, you never know what I will have for sale. I would include antiques furniture, but there is no easy way to ship large items, so I will not do that.
I also accept requests. I have a lot of items for sale, and most will never be listed on line. If you are looking for something, I may have it and would be happy to post the item or items for sale on Etsy.
I love the search, collecting unique and hard to find items. There are always different and new items out there that I have never had or seen. The search goes on!!!" ~Frank

Americana is the longing for the "Good Ole Days" It is the Saturday Evening Post, Montgomery Wards, Yellow Stone National Park, Walt Disney and The Wild West. It is the bright lights of Vegas, the Rat Pack, the farmlands of Nebraska, Daniel Boone and Marilyn Monroe.
I photograph Americana and the scenic US.
Capturing moments in times...
Traveling the Midwestern states all the way to the Pacific shores has provided me a multitude of beautiful scenes to photograph. Lush fields, waving grains and the deserts of the true Wild West is my muse. Rusty tractors and abandoned buildings my inspiration. I love photographing the Rust and Dust of the US. I capture Americana and the simple country life.

"My niece once declared, "Aunt Donna lives in the world!" She's so clever :) Indeed, for most of her little life, I have been backpacking and biking from one place to the next. Along the way, I collect old postcards, prints, and other vintage souvenirs. I have limited space in my bags, so I only pick up the pieces that I find the most interesting, aesthetically or historically.
The items I collect serve as starting points for exploring the history of the place, time period, or artistic style featured in the image -- what style of photography is it? why was this particular cobblestone street selected to represent this city? when did people start posing on the walls of that castle in ridiculously large sunhats? I like to share some of what I find in the listing descriptions; maybe it'll be interesting to you, but if not, my feelings won't be hurt :)
I think each of these souvenirs is unique and I'm curious about why someone else would also want to have a postcard of, say, an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia. So when you purchase an item from my shop, I'll send you a note asking you to share a bit about what drew you to that postcard, print or matchbook. Zero pressure to respond. But I'll be thrilled if you want to swap stories.

All of the items in my shop are carefully wrapped up and tucked away in my backpack or bike bags (depending on how I'm traveling). I ship orders as soon as possible from wherever I am -- so please read the Shipping & Policies section before purchase for up-to-date info on shipping/prep times. Sometimes I'm at a campground just down the road from a post office, other times I'm as off the grid as you can get nowadays. But my Shipping & Polices section always knows the latest.
Since early 2017, I've been trying to reduce the environmental impact of my shop by only using recycled shipping materials. I also do not offer rush shipping services. I donate 10% of proceeds to NC WARN, an environmental justice non-profit in North Carolina -- not as a direct offset (because I'm not convinced they're effective) but rather just because I want my little business uses energy so I want to contribute to the development of alternative energy sources.

I would find something completely beautiful about how the sun's rays would cast down on an old decaying Tobacco Shed overgrown with wild purple thistle and Queen Anne's Lace and want to preserve that treasured image forever. Or I would spend many days wondering the fields, creek and hillside in search of an artifact, unusual stone or a new plant I had never seen before. Again I would want to capture that moment and keep it with me to treasure during future rainy days.
Obviously one can't capture and keep everything without becoming a hoarder. Along with that I am a type A personality needing organization and order, so building my little shops to pass these treasures on to others has enabled me to pursue my passion.
